Story

Professor Dr. Christoph Schuhmacher is a medical doctor, cancer surgeon and emergency physician by training.
During his affiliation with TU-Munich, he focused on targeted research in cancer and holds patents in protein mutation-based therapy and cancer vaccination. During that time, he was member in the advisory board of various nationwide German large scale medical, nationwide practice changing research projects under the auspices of the German Ministry of Research and Education.
Leaving Munich, he served as manager at Freiburg University Heart Centre in the position of the Director of M&A.
Chris moved on as the founding operational director of ECRIN, when it was granted institutional status by the EU. ECRIN is the EU-Research Infrastructure Consortium for cross border research connecting the 27 EU-Nations and its affiliated partner countries. Here he also liaised actively with the European Forum for good Clinical Practice (EFGCP), accompanying the collaboration of EU-lawmakers, the pharmaceutical and med-tech industry, the medical associations and patient advocacy groups.
In 2016, Chris followed an opportunity as Vice President of the globally leading 5D BIM software technology provider RIB Software SE (now part of Schneider Electric CE) to serve as project leader (CEO of iTWOcity AG) for a prestigious smart city building consortium. The aim was to develop and provide technology to establish the first entirely digitally planned and build city quarter. A new personal challenge to enter into the space of digital innovation, IT-platform technologies and AI-driven business computing. During that time collaborations with McKinsey, KPMG and the Microsoft headquarter in Redmond were actively supported.
While in Hong Kong, he actively coordinated exchange programs with Hong Kong and Guangzhou based universities and supported the listing of the global enterprise IT-suite in HK SAR(CEDD). After 5 years of serving as VP and Managing director, located in Hong Kong and Guangzhou, Chris moved on as independent consultant with base in Hong Kong and Munich, now focusing entirely on supporting the complex commercialization process of innovative healthcare technologies, based on a milestone management strategy.

Schuhmacher Consulting today, is closely collaborating with Abridge Enterprises Company Limited, a seasoned venture capital firm and well established regional partner with successful track record in funding innovation. Abridge has the highly valuable license to conduct business in Mainland China.
